PRC (Practical Radio Communications) and mikeflags.com are all owned by George Whitaker and were located in Arlington, Texas for over 20 years. In March of 2009 the company was moved to Hamilton, TX.
George Whitaker is well known in the broadcast industry as a writer for Radio Guide, Radio World, Nuts 'N' Volts, and Radio Ink. He was chief engineer of several Dallas area radio stations for a number of years before his retirement from radio in 2001. He is the author of several books on broadcasting.
In 1990 Mr. Whitaker began making mic flags in his garage as a hobby. Most of the equipment was homemade. Today, PRC owns its shop building along with thousands of dollars in professional equipment.
